Purpose
The Hospice Auxiliary is the fund-raising arm of Hospice, Serving Davis and Wapello Counties. The Auxiliary Membership raises money for patient expenses and equipment that exceeds the amount received from Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurance. The Auxiliary strongly supports nurse and staff education, Hospice House, and other needs that arise.

- Bake Sale - Thursday, April 5, 2007
- Annual Soup Supper on Election Day - Tuesday, November 6, 2007
- Holiday Bazaar - Tuesday, November 6, 2007

Benefits enjoyed by Membership in the Auxiliary
In addition to the satisfaction members receive from helping to raise money to provide assistance to Hospice patients and families, members enjoy the following:
- Make new friends
- Auxiliary membership recognition during National Volunteer Week each April
- General Auxiliary membership luncheons
- "Dove Tales" - a quarterly newsletter
- Auxiliary "Thank You Tea" each August
What Members Can Do
- Bake pies, cookies, or desserts
- Sell Soup Supper Tickets
- Make phone calls
- Sell Memorial Dove Ornaments at Quincy Place Mall or other locations
- Make candy for a bake sale
- Help prepare or serve soup
- Invite a Hospice staff member to speak at clubs or organizations
- Invite friends to join the Auxiliary
Since 1989
- Raised over $60,000
- Purchased 6 patient beds for the Hospice House
- Purchased 2 Sapphire Comfort Turn Mattresses for the Hospice House
- Donated funding for patient expenses that exceeded Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurance payments to Hospice.
